About Us

Built by biofouling people — not generic software people.

Prior to building ShipCarePro we:

  • Conducted 1000s of Biosecurity Inspections on Ships
  • Manufactured & Installed MGPS for 70+ years
  • Created 100s of Biofouling Management Plans

70+ Years

In the Anti-Fouling Business

ShipCarePro is developed by the same team behind EMCS Industries Ltd. — our sister company with over 70 years of expertise in marine anti-fouling, in partnership with Marine Biologist Dr. Ashley Coutts.

 BMP+ Platform Goes Live

Biofouling Solutions (BFS) develops an automated Biofouling Management Plan & Record Book Platform called BMP+

2023

EMCS acquires BMP+

EMCS forms sister company ShipShape Biofouling Management and creates ShipCarePro. Instead of slapping a new logo on it, we kept the good, but rebuilt the rest from scratch with input/ research from vessel managers + governments and our development team.

2025

ShipCarePro Goes Live

After a successful overhaul and beta test, we went live on May 21st 2025, and already have just over 25 vessels signed up!

ShipCarePro’s BFMPS meets the gold standard because it was shaped by one of the world’s leading biofouling experts.

We didn’t just guess . We sat down with real vessel managers built what they needed.

"During early beta testing, I sat with real customers over screen share and watched them use it.  If someone couldn’t find a button, we moved it. If it took too many clicks, we simplified it"

– Tenille Villebrun (ShipCarePro Development Lead)

I just got feedback from the Captain on what the Australian Border force thought of the biofouling documents. He said they were very impressed with them. We are going to sign up the whole fleet.

Morning, it was a breeze getting through Australian formalities this time. The DAFF inspector was very impressed with all the ship care documents.

I love how the dynamic pages updated automatically on the BFMP. It is like a plan meets record book. This has saved us hours!

"During early beta testing, I sat with real customers over screen share and watched them use it.  If someone couldn’t find a button, we moved it. If it took too many clicks, we simplified it. We listened to their input, and many of the features you see today were directly shaped by those vessel managers."

Over 70 years in the

anti-fouling business

ShipCarePro is developed by the same team behind EMCS Industries Ltd., our sister company with over 70 years in the marine anti-fouling space. Led by Trevor Tasker and Cory Wade.

Back in 1955, EMCS invented the world’s first copper-aluminum Marine Growth Prevention System (MGPS) — technology that eventually became known globally as Cathelco. We’ve been dealing with invasive species and biofouling risk long before it became a port state control talking point.

We kicked off our launch at Carnival Corps Environmental Conference in Amsterdam. And we've already onboarded more than 25 vessels!

In 2022, EMCS acquired a legacy platform called BMP+, originally developed by Biofouling Solutions in 2020. But instead of slapping a new logo on it, we kept the good, but rebuilt the rest from scratch.

We didn’t just guess what people wanted. We sat down with real vessel managers and operators and built around what they need.
